Top Surf Spots in Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County has long been one of Florida’s most consistent and scenic stretches of coastline for surf. With a variety of sandbars, reefs, and jetties that respond to different swell angles, the area offers something for nearly every type of wave and weather setup. From Jupiter’s north-facing beaches to Boca’s protected coves, here are some of the best-known—and best-performing—surf spots in Palm Beach County.

Civic Center (Jupiter)

Known for its consistent punch and strong currents, Civic Center is a go-to when the surf is solid. This spot lights up during north and northeast swells and can hold solid overhead surf when most beaches are maxed out. Expect power, defined peaks, and heavy competition for sets when it’s firing.

Juno Beach Pier

A favorite among locals, Juno Pier offers a defined lineup and great shape during east and northeast swells. It tends to handle larger surf better than many nearby sandbars. The north side of the pier is known for its reeling rights, while the south side often produces long, wrapping lefts that run down the sandbar—sometimes against the grain when the swell angle shifts.

Reef Road (Palm Beach)

Reef Road is legendary—it’s one of the few true big-wave spots in South Florida. When a strong north or NNE swell hits, this reef-bottom break transforms into a deep, barreling wave that can reach double overhead. It’s fickle and needs the right tide, wind, and angle, but when it’s on, it’s world-class.

Lake Worth Pier

A consistent all-around spot, Lake Worth breaks on multiple swells—north, northeast, and east. It’s known for peaky, rippable waves and can handle a decent amount of size. The pier itself often helps groom the sandbars, creating defined takeoff zones that hold up through most tides.

Delray Beach

Delray is one of the most accessible and friendly surf zones in the county. It thrives during east and southeast windswell, producing fun, shapely peaks. When a strong north swell hits, it can also surprise you—especially around Atlantic Avenue.

Boca Inlet

The southernmost spot in the county, Boca Inlet can catch wrapping north swells that sneak past the Palm Beach shadow. When the refraction lines up, it delivers punchy rights along the jetty and shorter lefts that peel away from the inlet. The setup changes often, but it’s always worth a check when the buoys are up.

Other Notable Spots

Palm Beach County’s coastline is dotted with lesser-known but often excellent breaks, including Spanish RiverFlagpole, and Boynton Inlet. Each of these spots can turn on during the right combination of tide, swell angle, and wind—offering locals a chance at uncrowded sessions when the main breaks get packed.
